FOURTH HOUSE :

They  are 12 Houses (A House is called BHAVA in Sanskrit is language) and each house signifies. 

In the chart, as per the fourth house indicates  Education, Mother, Landed Property, agriculture, relatives, friends, chest, ornaments, comfort,  mind, home life.

For EDUCATION, we have to see

4^th House:  The significator or the 4^th house indicates the native’s regular attendance in a school or college, aptitude, general education and studious habits. 

9^th house indicates higher education

11^th house indicates success in education. 

As per  the KP Padhathi, the sublord of the ascendant we can find out whether the native is studious and industries.

 Mercury and Jupiter as significators give him the mind to study; whereas Saturn throws obstacles during the course of his study. 

Rahu is worse than Saturn.

4^th cusp sublord is connected with 4 and 1 only but not with 9^th, it indicates successful completion of general education.    General Education can be considered upto  graduation level.  Above graduation, it is considered as higher education even leading to doctorate and higher research works.

9^th cusp sublord is connected with 4 or 11, it is indicated success in higher education through had work. 

9^th cusp sublord is connected with 11 only  but not connected with 4, it indicates success in higher education without hard work or industry. 

11^th cusp sublord is connected with 9, it is indicates higher education and if connected with 4 only without having connection with 9, it indicates general education.

3^rd house indicates specialization or special subject when connected with 4 or 9 or 11.
